THE ATTORNEYS
Kathleen
Vossler is a fifth-generation Houstonian, with
local roots dating back to her family's farm in
downtown Houston in 1847. She has been an
entrepreneur for most of her adult life, working
in the three R's: Restaurant, Real Estate and
Retail before finally settling on her lifelong
ambition of practicing law. She earned her
Bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1993,
graduating magna cum laude from the University
of Houston, and went on to law school, again at
the University of Houston, earning her Doctor of
Jurisprudence and graduating cum laude in 1997.
All this she did while raising her three
children.
Her academic accolades are numerous, including
the Delphian scholarship, the Judge Mary Bacon
award, the Golden Key National Honor Society,
Dean's List, the Dorothy Schlayer Leadership
Award, the Moores Foundation Scholarship, the
Dean's Scholarship, the Public Interest
Fellowship, The Houston Chapter Award of the
Association of Legal Administrators, membership
in Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honor
Societies, Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society, and was
Co-Chair of Best of America.
Ms. Vossler is licensed in both state and federal
courts, is a certified mediator, a certified
family law mediator, and a candidate for
certified financial planner designation.
Ms. Vossler is an avid photographer and an
enthusiastic baseball fan. She is active in the
community through volunteering through the
Houston Bar Association, is a Life Member of the
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and various
other community organizations.

Dawn Renken is an accomplished traveler, having lived in places from South
Dakota to Texas to Geneva, Switzerland, where she studied abroad while working toward her law degree. Ms. Renken graduated from the University of Texas in 1997, with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Ms. Renken attended Ohio Northern Law School, where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2003, graduating with distinction, in the top ten percent of her class.
Ms. Renken's academic accomplishments include the Dean's List, the Willis Society, the Barrister Scholarship, admittance into the Order of Barristers, the Outstanding academic Performance Award, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, Trial Advocacy Award and the Burke E. Smith Mock Trial finalist. During law school, she competed successfully in Moot Court, was a Moot Court Associate Justice, was a National Trial Competition Team Coach, was a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates, a Criminal Law Teaching Assistant, a member of the International Law Society, the Icelandic Exchange Society, and was Associate Editor of the Ohio Northern Law Review.
Ms. Renken is published in the Ohio Northern Law Review, with articles on the Federal Election Commission and First Amendment issues.
Prior to law school, Ms. Renken worked in accounting and business, and developed a keen business acumen.
Ms. Renken enjoys working out, staying fit, and is a very competitive soccer player. Her dog, Misty, graduated with top honors in Agility Training.
Ms.
Renken
is certified as an Amicus Attorney, a Guardian Ad Litem and an Attorney Ad Litem through the Children's Friend in Court program in Harris County. She is also an active member of the Houston Bar Association, including its Family Law Section and Construction Law Section. She helps in her community through volunteering with the Houston Bar Association and with various other organizations.
